Officials in New York have declared June 19 as Justin Bieber Day and it will be celebrated every year.
The 18-year-old singer attended a record signing event at an electronics store in Manhattan, where he was visited by the Manhattan Borough President Scott M Stringer, reported the New York Post.
Stringer handed the pop star a framed certificate.
“This proclamation is on behalf of the 1.6 million people who live in Manhattan, and it’s very exciting to have Bieber here with us… I don’t give proclamation unless I believe,” the certificate reads.
Thousands of diehard fans, some accompanied by their parents, lined the streets in Manhattan for a chance to meet the Canadian superstar.
