The First Prosecution Witness from the Finance Ministry appeared in court on Tuesday morning to testify against business man Alfred Woyome in the 51 million cedis judgment debt saga.
The witness, Mangua Ghanney, who is a lawyer at the Ministry of Finance, told the court that Madam Betty Mould-Iddrisu ordered the payment of the money to Mr Woyome.
According to Madam Ghanney, Mrs Mould-Iddrisu issued a letter requesting the payment of 22 million Euros to Mr Woyome on the basis that it was a court sanctioned order. Subsequently, Mrs Mould-Iddrisu requested the payment of 51 million cedis to Mr Woyome.
XYZ News’ Kwame Danso Acheampong, who sat through the court proceedings said Mr Woyome’s lawyers cross-examined, Madam Ghanney, after the court refused to grant them a time out to better prepare for the cross examination.
